100-Year Rule versus the
10-Year Cycle

We define the vanguard of data interpretation by merging deep intellectual rigour with a pioneering technological framework that others simply do not possess. While the majority of platforms are content with distributing static 'averages' that flatten the human experience, we operate at a higher resolution—performing a forensic audit on the national datasets to reveal the structural truth underneath the surface.

This intellectual edge is sharpened by a unique 'Human-in-the-Loop' methodology. While algorithms can process the ONS datasets, they lack the visceral understanding of a life lived through 34 residential transitions. We integrate this rare, lived-experience perspective into our analytical engine, allowing us to identify the subtle 'friction points' in the UK housing market that standard software ignores. By combining this street-level intuition with our advanced geospatial and meteorological modeling, we move beyond mere observation. We provide a predictive, high-fidelity lens that empowers you to see exactly how legislative shifts and environmental pressures are physically and economically impacting the buildings you call home.

What Sets Us Apart

We define the vanguard of data interpretation by merging deep intellectual rigour with a pioneering technological framework that others simply do not possess. While the majority of platforms are content with distributing static 'averages' that flatten the human experience, we operate at a higher resolution—performing a forensic audit on the national datasets to reveal the structural truth underneath the surface.

By synthesizing 40 years of legislative history, real-world environmental science, and the lived reality of over 30 personal residential migrations, we don't just show you the UK in numbers; we provide the definitive 'Digital Twin' of the British social contract. We bridge the gap between official statistics and the survival calculus of daily life, ensuring that every data point we serve acts as a sovereign tool for individual and community empowerment.

The 100-Year Rule (Private Individuals)
  • Why: This is to protect personal privacy. It ensures that no one can look up exactly what your neighbor (or you) wrote on their form while they are still likely to be alive.

  • Current Status: The most recent individual records released to the public are from the 1921 Census (released in January 2022). You won't be able to see the individual records from the 2021 Census until the year 2122.

  • Future Historical Value: Once the 100-year protection expires, these records transform from confidential data into public historical documents. They become an invaluable resource for future historians and genealogists to trace family trees and understand the lives of their ancestors.

The 10-Year Cycle (Public Statistics)
  • What it is: This is anonymous, statistical data. It tells you how many people live in an area, their average age, or how many work in a certain industry.

  • Why it's public: It is impossible to identify a specific individual from this data. It doesn't say "John Smith lives here"; it says "145 people in this postcode area are male."

  • This data is vital for government planning (schools, hospitals, roads) and businesses, which is why it is made public quickly. It serves as the evidence base for allocating billions in public funding, ensuring that essential resources are directed exactly where they are needed most rather than relying on outdated estimates.

Why do some statistics change over time?

The ONS prioritizes timeliness, often releasing 'Provisional' data (like monthly House Price Indices) based on early returns so you get the fastest possible insights. These figures are later updated to 'Final' estimates once 100% of the data—such as late property registrations—is processed. We clearly label our data so you know which figures are emerging trends and which are set in stone.

9f2d2d90-080c-44ed-931f-e636153d.webp

How local is the data for my area?

To protect individual privacy, the ONS rarely releases data for a single house. Instead, they use 'Lower Layer Super Output Areas' (LSOAs)—small neighborhoods of roughly 1,500 people or 650 households. This allows us to map health, income, and crime data to your immediate community level with high precision, without compromising the anonymity of any single resident.

How does your pay compare?

Explore the reality of take-home pay, debt, and wealth. See where your finances truly stand in the bigger UK picture. he question "What do you earn?" is socially taboo, yet it is the metric by which we often secretly measure our success. But the number on your payslip is only half the story. A salary of £30,000 tells a completely different story in the North East than it does in the South East. We are digging into the data of disposable income—the money you actually have left after the essentials are paid. Why does this matter? Because the "cost of living" crisis has morphed into a "cost of working" reality. Commuting costs, childcare ratios, and regional tax burdens shift the goalposts of wealth constantly. By comparing your income not just to the national average, but to your specific region and peer group, we turn "pay envy" into financial intelligence. This isn't just about asking for a raise; it's about understanding the real purchasing power of your time and labor in today's economy.

Which groceries are getting pricier?

Track price surges, the bite of inflation, and the changing reality of the average British shopping basket. The supermarket shop is the most frequent, visceral touchpoint we have with the economy. It is where inflation stops being a percentage on the news and becomes a shock at the checkout. But the story isn't just that "things are more expensive." It is about what we are sacrificing. The data shows a shift in psychology: the trade-down from premium brands to value ranges, and the silent creep of "shrinkflation" where we pay the same for less. For businesses and households alike, this shift in the "shopping basket" is a leading indicator of confidence. When basics become luxuries, behaviour changes. We track these changes not to depress you, but to validate the pinch you are feeling. Understanding which specific categories—dairy, fuel, fresh produce—are driving the rise helps you budget smarter and proves that the "cost of survival" isn't just in your head; it's on the shelf.

How many healthy years ahead?

Discover why life expectancy varies by postcode and how local health gaps dictate the quality of our years ahead. We often talk about "Life Expectancy" (how long we live), but the metric that actually matters is "Healthy Life Expectancy" (how long we live well). There is a stark "postcode lottery" in the UK where two towns, just miles apart, can have a gap of ten years in healthy living. This isn't just a medical statistic; it is a story of infrastructure, air quality, green spaces, and community investment. This data is personal. It asks: Is your environment actively supporting your longevity, or is it working against it? For us, highlighting these disparities is about accountability. It pushes the conversation beyond "eat well and exercise" to the structural realities of where we live. Your health is your most valuable asset; understanding the external risks to that asset is the first step in protecting it.

Is University still within reach?

Analyze the shifting balance of debt vs. opportunity and what 'access' really means for students today. For decades, the university degree was sold as the golden ticket to social mobility and higher earnings. Today, the math has changed. With student debt soaring and the "graduate premium" (the extra money you earn for having a degree) shrinking in many sectors, the decision to go to Uni is no longer a no-brainer—it is a high-stakes investment calculation. We are looking at this through the lens of Return on Investment (ROI), not just tradition. Is the debt burden locking young people out of the housing market later? Does "access" mean the same thing for a student in a coastal town as it does for one in a city? This narrative matters because education shapes our future workforce. If the ladder of opportunity is missing rungs, we need to know exactly where they are broken so we can fix them—or find new ways to climb.

Is crime changing where you live?

Uncover trends in hidden and reported crime to understand how safety and justice are evolving near you. Safety is a feeling as much as it is a fact. While traditional stats might show burglary falling in some areas, the rise of "invisible" crime—fraud, cyber-crime, and digital theft—is exploding. This creates a strange paradox where our streets might look safer, but our bank accounts feel more vulnerable. The data often hides what matters most to residents: anti-social behaviour and the low-level disorder that erodes community pride. We bridge the gap between police reports and public sentiment. This matters for everything from your peace of mind to your property value. By understanding the type of crime prevalent in your area, you move from vague anxiety to practical awareness. We want to show the full picture of modern justice, looking at not just what is reported, but what is actually being solved.

Are we more connected or alone?

Explore the data on trust, loneliness, and relationships to see how our social ties are shifting in a modern Britain. We are the most digitally connected generation in history, yet the data suggests we are facing a "loneliness epidemic." The breakdown of traditional community hubs—pubs, youth clubs, local libraries—has left a void in our social fabric. This isn't just a sentimental issue; social isolation is a public health crisis and a massive economic drain. The "lived experience" here is the difference between having 500 followers and having one neighbor you can trust with a spare key. We are mapping the metrics of social cohesion—volunteering rates, trust surveys, and family proximity—to ask: Are we building communities, or just housing estates? This affects everyone, from the young professional working remotely to the retiree living alone. Rebuilding connection starts with admitting where it has been lost.

2025

Britain’s story.
Six key numbers.

Income

Average monthly rent

£1,366

The gap is widening. As of late 2025, the average UK house price sits at £270,000 (up 1.7%), while private rents have climbed faster, hitting £1,366 per month (up 4.4%). We compare monthly mortgage costs vs. rental reality in your specific region to answer the ultimate question: is it time to move?

Income & wealth

Median Annual Salery

£37,430 -  £39,884

Stop guessing your worth. The latest ONS data shows median annual pay for full-time employees is now £37,430, with weekly earnings hitting £767 in 2025. While wages have grown, inflation challenges remain. See how your specific sector and region stack up against the national median.

Cost of living

Inflation rate

3.5%

It’s not just a feeling—the price of the 'average shopping basket' has shifted. With CPIH inflation hovering around 3.5% in late 2025, the pressure has moved from general goods to specific food and service costs. We break down which 700 items the ONS actually tracks to measure your cost of living.

Health & life expectancy

Healthy life years

Female 61.9 Yrs & Male 61.5 Yrs

Life expectancy is one thing; healthy life expectancy is another. Current data reveals that males in England can expect 61.5 years of good health, and females 61.9 years. ONS data maps these 'healthy years' across local areas to show where the 'health wealth' gap is widening. Crucially, recent figures highlight a stark regional divide, with healthy years ending nearly two decades earlier in deprived areas compared to affluent zones.

Education & youth

University trends

2.9 Million Students

Higher education is shifting. The latest official data shows total student enrolments standing at 2.9 million, a slight decrease of 1% from the previous peak. While first-degree entrants remain steady, the real story is in postgraduate qualifications, which have overtaken first degrees for the first time on record. We break down exactly where students are coming from—and more importantly—what they are studying to help you map future skills trends.

Crime & safety

Reported crime rate

Crimes like Fraud have risen 14%

Is your area actually getting more dangerous, or does it just feel that way? While headline crime remains stable at 9.3 million incidents, 'hidden' crimes like fraud have risen 14%. We strip away the headlines to show the street-level safety data that matters to your postcode. The risk has largely shifted from the street to the screen, with bank and credit fraud driving the surge. Our analysis separates physical safety from digital threats.
