In the interest of focusing our resources on serving our genuine clientele and protecting our family business, we made a deliberate decision to withdraw from various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, as well as numerous third-party review sites. This decision was not taken lightly and stemmed from a concerning pattern of misuse. We experienced targeted campaigns involving hate groups and a significant influx of fake negative reviews from individuals we had never encountered or served. This malicious activity, characterized by a clearly identifiable and rapid spike in negative feedback from accounts spanning the globe – an anomaly for a local service provider – overwhelmed our capacity to manage effectively.

While we are grateful for the prompt action taken by Google to help mitigate the continuation of these attacks, the initial lack of effective preventative measures and the subsequent challenges in addressing the lingering false reviews eroded our trust in the ability of these platforms to ensure a fair and safe environment for businesses like ours. We were particularly disheartened by the emergence of unfamiliar review sites, such as Trustpilot and others, which became conduits for this negativity. As a small family business, the sheer volume and pointlessness of these engagements demanded time and energy that we simply could not spare.

 

Our priority shifted to what truly matters: delivering the service we are passionate about, planning for the future of our family business, and, fundamentally, protecting our children from the negativity that can so easily proliferate online. It is easy for individuals to unleash their anger and incite others from behind a screen, often forgetting the real human impact of their words and actions, particularly on families and their children. We chose not to engage in unproductive online battles but rather to allow time and the disinterest of those involved to naturally dissipate the situation – thankfully, which it has.

Throughout this period, the consistent stream of genuine positive reviews, often with detailed and descriptive accounts of our responsible, professional, and approachable nature, served as a powerful affirmation of our values and our commitment to our work.

We recognize that in any public-facing business, occasional personality clashes or misunderstandings can occur. However, we firmly stand against being treated with disrespect simply because a client may have disregarded our terms and conditions, experienced a moment of frustration, or demanded a refund in circumstances where it was not warranted – a situation particularly perplexing in our industry, where, for example, it is widely understood that window cleaning is often weather-dependent. To have the future of our family business held "to ransom" over such matters and poor customer ethics was unacceptable.

Our children are our priority, and as time progresses, our continued dedication to our business model yields increasing success – a testament to our resilience and something those who sought to harm us will likely never comprehend. We maintain unwavering faith in our abilities, strength in our ethical principles, and a steadfast stance against bullying and unreasonable behavior.
