Systemic hypervigilance

BEEI

For some people the mind never quite switches off from scanning for problems, and a building's flaws sit constantly in view. Systemic Hypervigilance is that sustained state of alertness. We note it because the right response is not to amplify the worry but to calmly show the problem is contained and handled — which is its own kind of relief.

Systemic Hypervigilance is the sustained, generalised threat-monitoring state characteristic of the Enthropathological Mind — a nervous system tuned to detect disorder and decay everywhere, underpinned by a hyperactive Default Mode Network and a stress-hypertrophied amygdala. In BEEI it explains heightened, persistent concern about a property's condition and informs how the service should communicate: calmly bounding the problem and demonstrating control, rather than amplifying threat. It is the behavioural signature that links the framework's neuroscience to its client-handling protocols.
